Press Release re: OBA's by Taps Media!

May 2, 2017

Taps Media owner of TAPS Online (Taps Magazine) & Canadian Brewing Awards announces they have acquired the Ontario Brewing Awards!

I'm excited to see the ownership of both beer awards come together and look forward to see the direction they take both the CBA's & OBA's to grow and continue to showcase the awesome beer made in this country and province!

There are improvements that can come to both annual award ceremonies and I am confident with sometime and feedback from Craft Brewers and others in the industry these can both be exciting, well attended events that are looked forward to each year by both the industry & the public.

Congrats Taps I am looking forward to the future!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TAPS Media Announces Acquisition of the Ontario Brewing Awards
Ontario Brewing Awards will now be TAPS Media, owners of the Canadian Brewing Awards and Conference.

Toronto, ON – May 2, 2017 – TAPS Media, owners of TAPS Online (TAPS Magazine) and the Canadian Brewing Awards and Conference, announced April 28 that it has acquired the Ontario Brewing Awards. The announcement was made at the 2017 Ontario Brewing Awards (OBA) in Toronto, Ontario.

The Ontario Brewing Awards was founded in 2004 by Intelivents, a Toronto based events company, to showcase the success, growth, and quality of the Ontario brewing industry products. This year’s OBAs showcased 679 entries in 44 style categories plus Best of Show (gold, silver and bronze) and Newcomer of the Year. TAPS Media will utilize their experience with the Canadian Brewing Awards and Conference to continue to grow the OBAs into the premier Ontario-centric awards and conference recognizing Ontario brewing excellence.

“Our team is very excited to bring the same level of excellence to the OBAs that we have strived for in the CBAs,” commented Rob Engman, President of TAPS Media. “Our mantra is to embrace a collaborative approach and continually strive for improvement. Our first step will be to reach out to every brewery in Ontario and ask them a series of questions that will guide the positive changes that will be implemented in 2018.”

Please go to TAPS Online, www.tapsmagazine.com, and the Ontario Brewing Awards social media for news and updates on plans for next year’s awards as they become available.
