The Day I Drank Duff Beer….
We had a great time this past October at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. As we wandered around the park we knew somewhere was “Krusty Land” aka Simpsons World but had no idea what that involved.
As we turned a corner near the back of the park it unveiled itseld and wowzers was it more than I had imagined....
Yes we drank DUFF Beer...
Yes we went into the Kwik-E-Mart...
Yes we got a picture with Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Bob...
And yes…. I ate a 2 ft hotdog!!
All the workers were in character and reciting their corresponding lines from The Simpsons ... even the east Indian lady working in the Kiwk-E-Mart yelled at us to "Quit browsing and move along!!!"
But first things first we headed in search of Moe’s Tavern to find DUFF!!!
We entered and ordered a DUFF … as we did a Cheers to DUFF and took my first sip, anticipating it being bland and not very good, my taste buds were met with a pleasant surprise..... it was actually better tasting beer than I expected!!!!
It came served on draught and in 2 varieties but I can’t remember what they were… I think it was DUFF & DUFFtoberfest. I had the DUFFtoberfest.
…OH YEAH!!
They also had Flaming Moe’s that were non-alcoholic but had dry ice in the bottom so it smoked and bubbled when served and of course came in a Souvenir Glass in true Disney Form. (see video below))
We took our DUFF Beer outside to DUFF Gardens patio and ordered a 2ft Hot Dog (strangely amazing) and sat next to the bushes that were skillfully carved into the shapes of The Seven Duffs….
The rest of the afternoon was filled with Bumblebee Man Taco’s, photo ops with the characters, visit to Kwik-E-Mart, got threatened by Sideshow Bob, more DUFF Beer and memories to last a lifetime!
